Today I've formatted my PC and installed Windows 10, however the first and hopefully last problem I've encountered was that the Creative Sound Blaster Recon3Di config panel didn't want to operate and presented me with the following error:

I've reinstalled the driver multiple times via the official driver page from Gigabyte and through windows itself which gave me errors while installing as well something related to the 'extra's' that couldn't be installed.

I searched around and found this thread on the Gigabyte Forums: http://forum.giga-byte.co.uk/index.php?topic=16243.0

Where the last post states to use an older Windows 8.1 version, which does seem to work after you enable compatibility for the control panel to set it for Windows 8. So the configuration panel does seem to work now.

HOWEVER! The main problem at hand is that my front microphone jack just doesn't want to be recognized, these worked perfectly before installing Windows 10 and the microphone does work if I put it in the audio jacks directly in the back of my motherboard which is a 'Gigabyte G1 Sniper M3'.

As I frequently use my front jacks I'd like this problem to be fixed and I'd like to avoid going through the hassle of reformatting and downgrading back to Windows 8.1.

The strangest thing though is that the audio works on the front jack, just not the microphone which is quite important as I'm using a headset.

So did anyone experienced a similar problem or know a possible fix to it? If so then thank you in advance for any information you could provide me.

TL;DR: My front microphone jack doesn't work after installing windows 10, they worked perfectly before on Windows 8 so I think this is a problem with my sound drive which also seem to be bugged when installed the latest version. Does anyone know a possible fix? Thanks!

EDIT:

In the end I feel really stupid that it was only this small thing that was causing the problem. I only had to select the Front Microphone as the input device in the Sound Blaster Configuration Panel.

After selecting Front Microphone everything works now!
